This week’s Dress like blog features Anna Peterson (Maika Monroe) in The Guest, think over the knee socks and chunky Dr Martens (which I immediately want). As a bit of a goth there is lots black, distressed jumpers and eye liner.
Black suspender belt from House of Fraser paired with skull vest dress from an extremely random website called AliExpress, but it does look exactly like the one she wears in the film. Add to this the black over knee socks (these are going to feature a lot in this post) and you can get some nice ones on ASOS for £6. Finished off with the Dr Martens 1B99 Virginia boot. Not many inverted triangle necklaces around but I like this one from Crowdy House, which I’ve never heard of before, but seems to have some interesting jewellery on.
Love these killstar Morgue skeleton knee high socks! And jumper is from Pretty Little Thing. Black bodycon skirt, which you can get from any high street brand. There are some really cheap in H and M at the mo. Dr Martens boots and necklace as above.
So for this you can either wear a legit waitress outfit, of take inspiration with the colour and pair a blue skirt and blouse with Dr Martens and knee high socks. This skirt is from either Pucci or Gucci, either way very expensive! You can get a waitress style apron from lots of online Etsy stores. The top is polo shirt is from a random outdoors shop called Regatta but had to get that colour! H and M also has a T-shirt in the same colour. I have added the yellow skull scarf from Alexander Mcqueen for the colour for the collar and she later wears a white version of this scarf.
Yes in the film she’s wearing a pentagram/star shirt but I like Rush so it’s a Rush T-shirt. Pants are from Hanky Panky, necklace as above and this time with some grey knee high socks, again you can get off ASOS. Free People also have some very beautiful over the knee leg warmers.
Other items which feature in the film are distressed black tops (these both from BooHoo) and another skull scarf (again Alexander McQueen). She wears the same black bracelets throughout, I love the stacking ones from Links on the left, paired with Onyx beaded bracelet, again lots of this style on Etsy and the ones on the right are like the old jelly bands we used to wear at primary school!
