So following my cleansing, toning, moisturising routine, as you’ve got to look after your skin, I start with the beautiful, shimmery Wonder Glow primer from Charlotte Tilbury. This gives a great highlighting base, to be followed by the Magic Foundation, which I apply all over with a beauty blender sponge. Already looking much better! More on the Wonder Glow and Foundation in my Charlotte Tilbury Review.
Then to the eyes, which is always my focus area, if I could only pick one make up product it would be an extremely close tie between mascara and eye liner. I start off with the Benefit Stay Don’t Stray which is technically an eye shadow primer, but i use it as an under eye concealer as its great to cover those bags under my eyes and brighten the brow bone, but not great as a primer. The only one I’ve ever used that works is Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. This is the teeny tiny baby one.
Then for two cult classics, Nars Orgasm Blush, which is 100% worth the hype. Extremely flattering shade, great mix of gentle pink for colour for a healthy glow. And, the Urban Decay Naked palette. This one is the Naked Basics palette, but I find this has been more than enough range for my daily make up routine. I use the ‘Venus’ shade over my eye lid and up to brow bone for highlighting and then the darker ‘Faint’ shade for adding colour and enchanting the eye. More on how to achieve the perfect smokey eye in my smokey eyes must haves post.
Then I take the MAC Pro Longwear Eye Liner to draw my feline flick. I used to always use liquid as I couldn’t find a pencil that actually lasted, but this one is brilliant, intense black colour and lasts all day. I can not believe it only has 2 out of 5 on the MAC website!
Here’s a fantastic video from Charlotte Tilbury on how to get the perfect feline eye. Great tip on how to measure the flick length. I personally just do the top lash line for during the day and then add on the lower lash line for par-tay time!
This is topped off with lashings of mascara. I love Lancome Hypnose Volume-a-Porter mascara, which thickens, lengthens and volumises and best of all it does not smudge! Even though it’s not waterproof, so you can still get it off with normal make up remover in the evening. I find I dont even need to bother with an eye lash curler when using this. My back up would be Benefit They’re Real mascara.
Finishing off with the Clinique Pop Lip Colour and Primer my favourite is Peony Pop. Adds a bit of colour and is very long lasting with the in built primer. I also love the Maybelline Baby Lips Balm, in cherry which adds stronger colour and a provides a moisturise red dewy pout.
