This week’s Monday Muse is Brigitte Bardot, the blonde bombshell who rocked the bee hive and cat eye (more in my blog post ’60s half up and half down hair do’) . She created a multitude of trends, not least the Bardot neckline, which are still emulated today. Her iconic style is simple and sexy, whether she’s wearing a tiny bikini or pair of jeans, resulting in her timeless look.
This is a woman on a mission and a stylish mission at that. Black jumper from Pop Map, flower printed trousers from Topshop, with faux suede ballet pumps from New Look. This particular scarf is from Liberty as it complements these trousers and shoes beautifully. Outfit finished off with lovely cats eyes sunglasses from Christian Dior.
I love how she’s so casually leaning on the thinest piece of wood ever. The Breton top is of course a french staple, the one below is from John Lewis but I got a great one from ASOS Reclaimed Vintage recently as well. Paired with blue jeans – Levis, Diesel or Pepe Jeans are my favourite. And, the nude ballet pumps are from New Look as before.
This is my favourite look, she’s just so effortlessly cool and shows that she could wear the simplest of outfits and still look iconic. You can recreate the look from skinny black jeans, these from levis, cashmere black jumper as above and Ash Biker boots. I have this style and wear them all the time, they go with everything!
Topshop has gone made for Bardot at the moment, so you can get bardot tops and dresses in all different colours at the moment. This is dress is from Topshop with a great red belt from Dorothy Perkins and vintage style knee high boots from Charlotte Russe.
Another great simple outfit featuring the mini skirt, which Bardot championed through the sixties. The A-Line one pictured here is from New Look paired with a button up western jacket from Mint Velvet.
Casual cigarette and glass of wine look, black shirt from Yoox top, paired with levis skinny jeans, and love these Maroon loafs from H and M which add a pop of colour.
Finishing with a bardot neckline top, of course, the one featured here is from TopShop. The checked skirt is from Rag and Bone and finish off with black stilettos for a classy evening look, these ones are from Pretty Little Thing.
