So ideally the natural make up look should take less time than the full made up look, otherwise for me there’s just no point, especially when the majority of the eye makeup part has been removed. This is always the challenging part for me, the standard one eye doesn’t make the other and before you know it you look like a panda!
What you’ll need:
- Illuminating primer
- Foundation/BB/CC cream
- Eyebrow pencil or gel
Products I use:
After cleansing and toning, I start with Simple Kind To Skin Illuminating Radiance Cream as a day moisturiser, it says its filled with vitamins and minerals but it looks a liiiiiittle bit like gold glitter. Either way is a lovely illuminating base.
I then apply L’Oreal True Match Touch Magique around the eyes to cover those massive bags I have now i’m nearly 30 😦 I use a concealer brush. As the Touch Magique sort of has a brush included, I dab the concealer on with this, and then use the concealer brush to blend in under the eyes.
I’m sooo pale, and I find the Liz Earle Skin Tint in ‘Bare’ actually matches my skin tone! Removing a lot of faffing around time. It has a light coverage with SPF protection, ideal as you just don’t realise how much sun exposure your face gets, especially in London where it seems like permanent cloud! I don’t bother with a foundation brush or sponge to apply this and just use my fingers. Taking care to dab under the eyes so it’s fully blended in with the concealer.
Once i’ve got my make up base in place, I touch up my eyebrows with Maybelline Master Brow in Soft Brown. Start by going against the hairs and then with your eyebrow lashes to get full coverage. Although I don’t know why I bother as my fringe covers them anyway! I know the gels are in fashion now, but i mention prefer the pencils, I find they give a more natural coverage.
Maybelline Push Up Drama Mascara is amazing! It curls the lashes, so I don’t need to bother my my lash curler, and it also adds a plenty of length and volume. All for under a tenner! I was super impressed with this. I also really like the L’Oreal Volume Millions mascaras which give excellent volume and if you’re looking to splash the cash, Lancôme Hypnôse Volume à Porter.
Everyone raves about NARS Orgasm blush and I can see why! I have very pale skin and dark eyes, so peach or baby pink blushers are best for me. So this is absolutely ideal, it also has a lovely shimmer to add a subtle highlight.
Finish off with a tiny tiny bit of highlighter where you would naturally get the sun, so down the nose, across the top of the cheekbones, and middle of the chin. Depending on how this covers I might touch up the blusher again. The liquid ones last longest and I love Benefit’s Girl Meets Pearl as well.
On my lips I just use Maybelline Baby Soft Lip Balm in Booming Ruby, which is the perfect colour for me, adds a bit of colour which isn’t too overpowering, and makes your lips lovely and soft. I prefer this to EOS, which definitely doesn’t last as long.
